Hazy, lazy summer days with a floaty gauze tent

This is an easy, low-cost way to create a magical, relaxing space in the garden this summer. It's a great reading nook, play area, or just a comfortable sleeping spot to enjoy the warmth of the sun, delicate breezes and fewer insects buzzing around.

Children love it. We first tried it out on our own in the garden and it was perfect as a fun play space. At her birthday party we put it up again and it was a big hit.

It's a very simple tent to put together. I used a gauze bed canopy which we already had and hung it from a tree in the garden. An old bedspread and cushions for the inside. I used the cushions to weight down the ends of the tent to stop it blowing out of shape in the breeze but on a windy day you might need to use something heavier for weights.
